The event will be held at Acadiana Nature Station located at Acadiana Park. It will be November 19th from 10am – 2pm
We will need:
– 3 volunteers for the entry table and sign ups. They would need to arrive at 9am to help with table set up and to get briefed.
Supplies needed:
9 Tables, 9 table cloths, 45 chairs (these tables and chairs will also be used for lunch and the terrarium class.)
Table 1: 50 tree color sheet printouts, 50 handfuls of yard leaves – dry so that they will crumble, crayons, glue sticks to accommodate 15 kids at a time.
Table 2: Pet rock craft – 50 painting rocks, glue on eyes, glue, paint and paintbrushes to accommodate 15 kids at a time.
Table 3: Mason jar bird feeders – mason jars, yarn, plastic sandwich bags, paint and paintbrushes to accommodate 15 kids at a time, bird feed
– Lunch – 3-4 volunteers 11am arrival – Preparing and serving. We are currently planning for 75 people. The plan is red beans and rice with sausage.

10 lbs. Red Kidney Beans6 lbs. Andouille sausage, sliced into 1-inch discs8 yellow onions, diced6 green bell peppers, diced6 stalks of celery, diced6 cloves garlic, minced6 bay leaves1 (1-ounce) container white pepper1 (0.7-ounce) container dried thyme3 bunches green onions, chopped2 cup fresh parsley10 lbs of white rice
Supplies needed:
Terrarium soil, terrarium rocks (small), terrarium moss plants (small ferns, air plants, succulents, etc), spray bottles (about 3), glass or plastic containers (mason jars or similar), plastic spoons, and sand or activated charcoal
– 1 Helper to aid Hunter with Scavenger Hunts
