Nature’s Journey is a 501c3 non-profit organization that focuses on improving mental health through outdoor activities. We are three local hiking and kayaking guides who want to make the outdoors accessible to those who do not have the means to do so! That’s why we put on free events for everyone to participate.
Our Foster Family Adventure Committee focuses on hosting nature adventure days for foster families at our local Nature Park. Children and foster parents at our events enjoy:
- Terrarium classes, where kids get to create and bring home their very own terrarium. We also have a raffle for kids to enter to win a live lizard!
- Arts and crafts tables to create personalized bird feeders.
- Scavenger hunts in the woods.
- S’mores around the campfire.
We are partner with the Acadiana Nature Station and Acadiana Park to put on this youth event and other similar activities related to ecotherapy.
